The COVID-19 pandemic has caused an undeniably difficult situation for many in the Monessen Community and in our nation over the past year. The district is now looking forward to a path where our students will be returning to in-person instruction for the 2021-2022 school year. While a return to in-person learning is clear evidence that we are making progress, we know that many of our students will require a significant amount of attention to address the learning loss, social-emotional needs, and safety as they re-engage in the traditional every day school setting.

Monessen City School District will be applying federal funding that is being made available through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) program. This is intended to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and to address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on students. ESSER funding must be used to meet needs that have resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Monessen City School District is asking students, parents/guardians, employees, and community members to complete a short survey to help us finalize the major areas of need for which we will consider the use of the ESSER Funding in the district. Please click HERE to be directed to the survey.

Monessen City School District appreciates the community's feedback and support.

Thank you!
