*When we are able to have events; all parents and guardians wishing to volunteer at school functions must have the membership form and payment turned in and the 2 clearances on file with the office. No exceptions!
Clearances for Anyone wishing to be a PTA Volunteer:
To volunteer at the school for ANY PTA or school event, you MUST obtain VOLUNTEER Clearances.
You will need both of the following:
PA STATE POLICE CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK
PENNSYLVANIA CHILD ABUSE HISTORY CLEARANCE
There is NO COST to obtain clearances for volunteers in the state of Pennsylvania.
Both of the above clearances may be completed online at:

Once on the website please click on the box that state “NEW VOLUNTEER RECORD CHECK”
Complete the information on each page and SUBMIT. Results typically only take a few minutes. Once your request is complete, please click the Control/Reference number and then click Certification Form. Please print your certificate.
PENNSYLVANIA CHILD ABUSE HISTORY CLEARANCE

Click “Create Individual Account” then follow the instructions to complete volunteer (click Other and type “Monessen Elementary Center PTA”) clearances. When all information is complete click “NO” payment code and then submit. Results will be emailed and you will need to log back into the site to access the results. Please print your certificate.
The Monessen PTA and the Monessen School District will not be able to consider you as a volunteer unless these clearances are obtained and presented to the school. Clearances are only valid for two (2) years. You will need to renew every two years to volunteer for school activities. Any questions regarding clearances, please contact the school.
